Growth with vision

Over the past 15 years, METEK has grown significantly, from an initial 20 to 65 employees. "The expertise of our workforce is the foundation of our company," says Wiedenhofer. This knowledge enables us to develop more specific solutions and also to gain international significance. "In the past, we have also acquired companies that, in retrospect, did not prove to be a good fit. But we learned from this and focused on what we are really good at. We don't want to be the biggest, but we want to be among the best." Today, METEK is a major player in the upscale hotel industry in the DACH region - and beyond.

Every success story

Exactly 50 years ago, METEK was founded by Helmut Kostner in a small garage in Marling and quickly developed into a respected craft business for automated sliding doors for entrances and swimming pools. A new era began 15 years ago when Georg Stampfer took over the company. By then, Kostner's efforts had long since established the METEK brand on the market, and it was valued by numerous customers. "It was completely new territory for me at the time – but that's exactly what appealed to me. This experience continues to drive me today," says owner Stampfer. With 50 years of experience behind it, METEK works with glass in all its forms. The focus – supported by 65 employees and two locations – is on the ambition to be among the best in the German-speaking markets.

Whether hotel projects, administrative buildings, or private architecture: high-quality glass processing is a common thread running through the company's history. METEK focuses on three core business areas: facades, automatic sliding doors, wine rooms, and wine cabinets. These strategic business areas enable the company to respond to different market requirements – without losing sight of its focus on glass specialization. "Our core competence is very clear: our customers expect innovative solutions, and ultimately, these solutions take the form of elegant glazing solutions," explains Ewald Wiedenhofer, Managing Director of METEK.

Two locations, one culture

The opening of the production site in Assling 25 years ago - a second anniversary of which METEK is proud - marked the beginning of an important chapter. "The team lives and breathes genuine craftsmanship," says Wolfgang Passler, managing director of the branch in East Tyrol. Operating at two locations is a challenge, but "structured, cross-border processes and a common approach are crucial."

Industrial thinking – artisanal execution

Behind METEK is a highly motivated team of technicians, engineers, and craftsmen who are passionate about creating outstanding architectural solutions using glass and metal. Their expertise ranges from design to implementation, with a focus on individuality, precision, and sustainability. "We view every project as a unique challenge in which we combine innovation and state-of-the-art technologies in dialogue with builders and architects; manufacturing and assembly are carried out from a single source."

Partnership as a principle

The slogan "elegant glazing for an elegant lifestyle" sums up the vision in a few words. Behind it is the idea of using high-quality glass solutions to create spaces that not only function but also inspire – in hotels, swimming pools, spas, wine climate rooms, and facades for businesses and private individuals. 

50 years of METEK: Company family day

The anniversary is more than just a moment to pause and reflect. It is a thank you – to the people behind the story. The highlight will be a METEK family celebration in August. "This milestone belongs to everyone who has shaped METEK and to all those who will continue to develop it in the future," say Ewald Wiedenhofer, Wolfgang Passler, and Georg Stampfer in unison.
